In a move to free up $2.5 million in salary cap space, the Raiders released DE Kalimba Edwards.
The former second round pick of the Detroit Lions had a solid 2008 season with the Raiders, posting 48 tackles and tying the team's lead for sacks with five. The eighth-year pro started eleven games for the Raiders, and set a personal record for most tackles in a season despite being hampered by a tricep injury towards the end of the year.
