Al Davis promoted assistant coach John Fassel to special teams coordinator this past Saturday. Fassel, who joined the Raiders organization 2 years ago, is the son of former Giants head coach Jim Fassel. Jim is also a candidate for the Raiders' vacant head coaching position.
Along with Brian Schneider who left to join Pete Carroll in USC, John Fassel co-piloted what was a standout special teams unit for the Raiders in 2008.
